Apostles - Legendary Heroes Or Real Men?

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Jerry Richard Boone You remember those hand-picked lieutenants of Jesus — the apostles? Jesus chose them to carry on his mission. And that’s just what they were doing when the Gospels were composed. They were the leaders, preachers, and teachers of the early Christian movement. James, the older brother of John, had already died a martyr’s death in A.D. 44. Legendary Heroes How do you expect these men to be portrayed in the Gospel narratives? If it’s a made-up story, one thing we can be sure of, Jesus and his apostles will be the heroes. Bear in mind that myth-makers don’t waste time on half-way measures; that would just befuddle the story. The heroes, Jesus and associates, should look and act the part of true champions. Sanitized Characters But what if they didn’t make up the story? Let’s just say that the Gospel authors took the real characters and cleaned them up a bit, rounding off the rough edges so that they would appeal to potential converts. You can see how they could justify this: “Jesus, Peter, James, John, and the rest should be presented in the best light possible. That would establish the proper example for Christians to follow.” Now our question is: How would the Gospels read if they “cleaned up” the leading characters? More than likely, we would not find the super heroes of myth, but they wouldn’t appear too scruffy either. Certainly nothing embarrassing would be allowed to stay in the story. Real Men Then there is a third alternative. That is, the Gospel writers took the real story without sanitizing it and presented it as honestly as they could. With that, we would expect to see bits of realism seep through. In a group of twelve or so men, there are bound to be some flaws. If the story is told straight, we are likely to see some of these less than perfect traits. Maybe even Jesus himself was occasionally out of sorts. Do the Gospels match any of the three scenarios? Let’s take a look. Gospels Reveal Flawed Apostles Prone to Violence and Selfishness We find James and John, Jesus calls them the “Sons of Thunder,” wanting to rain fire from heaven down on a particular Samarian village which wouldn’t receive Jesus. Jesus said, “No.” (Luke 9:53-55) Later these same two brothers requested preferential treatment for themselves in the coming Kingdom. (Mark 10:37) That didn’t go over well with the rest of the apostles. Pride Still later, Jesus found his disciples arguing among themselves about which one of them was the greatest. (Mark 9:33-34) Of course, the Gospel writers could have remained silent about these indiscretions. We would have been none the wiser, and the apostles wouldn’t have looked tarnished. But they didn’t do that. Fearful What else do Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John tell us about Jesus’ hand-picked apostles? They are not always the hero type. In fact, we often find them in fear of one thing or another. They feared the storm. So they woke Jesus up and he calmed the sea. (Mark 4:37-39) When they saw Jesus walking on water, they thought he was a ghost and cried out in fear. (John 6:18-20) Remember Peter wanted to walk on water too, but he began to fear the wind and waves, and he started to sink. (Matthew 14:30) Those are disappointments, but the real disappointments were yet to come. We meet them in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus’ enemies arrested him there, and the apostles fled in fear. (Matthew 26:47-56) Then Peter denied he knew Jesus three times. (John 18:17-27) Yes, it was all prophesied ahead of time, and yes, they were fulfilling scriptures. Nonetheless, it was a black day for the apostles in more ways than one. And they knew it. Sunday evening we find Jesus’ disciples hiding in a house with doors locked, afraid the Jews might be coming for them next. (John 20:19) It’s not an inspiring picture. But it is realistic. Let’s give credit where credit is due. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John appear to be telling us exactly what happened; let the chips fall where they may. Lacking in Faith Other flaws surface too. The disciples ran across a demon possessed man who is having a seizure. Jesus says matter-of-factly, they didn’t have enough faith to cast out the demon. (Matthew 17: 9-20) That lack of faith was to resurface later in a shocking way. They had little faith in Jesus himself. Jesus told his disciples time after time he was going to Jerusalem. There he would suffer and die. Then on the third day he would rise from death. He didn’t just give his followers a broad outline of things to come. Jesus filled in the details. He told them exactly what would happen, from his betrayal, to his sentence of death, to his flogging, to his crucifixion, on to his resurrection. (Matthew 16:21) (Matthew 17:23) (Matthew 20:19) (Luke 9:22) (Luke 24:7) Somehow or another, his disciples didn’t catch on. They either couldn’t comprehend, or didn’t believe, or both. Don’t forget now, Jesus was their master, and Peter had already confessed him as the Son of God. So why they didn’t take Jesus at his word strikes us as curious. But the story becomes more curious as it goes along. Jesus did go to Jerusalem. He was betrayed, (Matthew 26:45) tried by the Jews (Mark 14:53-64), condemned (Mark 14:65), and handed over to Roman soldiers who in turn beat him, abused him, and crucified him. (Mark 15:16-24) Can you imagine one of the apostles keeping a list of Jesus’ prophesies and checking them off one by one as they happened? On Sunday morning after the crucifixion, the list would look like this: [x] Going to Jerusalem (Yes, we did that. Check that one off.) [x] Son of Man betrayed to chief priest and teachers of law (Yes that happened) [x] They will condemn him to death. (That’s what they did.) [x] They will turn him over to the gentiles. (Yeah, they did that too.) [x] [x] [x] The gentiles will mock, flog, and crucify Jesus. (Yes, yes, yes, they did all three.) [ ] On the third day, Jesus will rise to life. (Hey, that’s today! That’s next on the agenda. Jesus was right about all those other things, maybe he’ll come through on this one too.) Clearly, none of the twelve, now eleven, apostles were list keepers because no one seemed to reach this conclusion. Obviously, they didn’t take Jesus at his word either. They weren’t expecting his arrival. They had given up; they were alone, afraid, and defeated. Luke tells us that Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James and others with them came to the house that same morning and told the apostles. “Jesus has risen.” They still didn’t believe. As Luke puts it, the women’s “words seemed to be nonsense.” (Luke 24:10-11) Later two disciples came to the house saying they had seen and talked with the resurrected Jesus. (Luke 24:33-35) The apostles didn’t believe them either. Finally, Jesus himself appeared and rebuked them for their lack of faith. (Mark 16:14) Thomas wasn’t with them, however. Evidently, Thomas didn’t believe Jesus when he said he would rise on the third day. He didn’t believe the women who reported it happened. He didn’t believe the two disciples when they said it happened. And we see he did not take the word of his fellow apostles who told him they saw Jesus. (John 20:24-25) How’s that for a determined skeptic? And these were Jesus’ own hand-picked disciples! Lacking in Understanding Often we discover Jesus’ disciples just didn’t understand what Jesus was talking about. They didn’t understand the parable of the sower (Mark 4:10); they didn’t understand Jesus’ power in the feeding of the five thousand (Mark 6:35-44); they didn’t understand Jesus’ warning about the “yeast” of the Pharisees. (Matthew 16:6-11) And Peter didn’t understand Jesus’ statement: “What goes out of a man makes him unclean, not what goes into him.” (Matthew 15:10-20) Likewise, Peter didn’t understand why Jesus was washing the disciples’ feet. (John 13:6-10) And again, it is Peter who strongly objected to Jesus’ announcement of his own death. He didn’t understand God’s plan. (Matthew 16:21-23) The apostles seem like normal men, bumbling their way along. They were not exceptionally intelligent, nor exceptionally courageous, nor exceptionally trusting. In fact, they weren’t exceptionally anything. Jesus’ three favorites: Peter, James, and John couldn’t even stay awake and keep watch with him an hour or so in Gethsemane. (Mark 14:32-41) Those who read the Gospels discover a very authentic group of men surrounding Jesus. They are shown with all their spots and blemishes. No cover ups. No embellishments. These are real men doing real things. Marketing Tip - The Top 6 Biggest Marketing Mistakes

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Alan Boyer When I started to write this article on the biggest mistake almost every marketer makes I was going to focus on THE BIGGEST single mistake, but there are several. And, an even bigger aha moment is that most companies that “call themselves” professional marketing companies make the mistakes as bad, if not worse, than the non-professionals trying to build their own business.` Mistake #1 - Assuming that Marketing Results are Vague, Black Magic, and Not Predictable Marketing tip –Marketing done correctly will provide consistent, predictable results As a guideline, the national average for direct mail marketing is 0.5% to 1.0%, meaning that if you send out 1,000 letters, postcards, flyers, etc. And IF you are even average, then you should have between 5 and 10 people contacting you. Although that is considered average, doing some simple things can take that number up to 10%-30%, or even higher. Mistake #2 - Trying Marketing One Time and Giving Up….Because That Didn’t Work. Marketing Tip –Marketing Results, or Leads are one of the critical results of a business that are ABSOLUTELY necessary. In other words you can’t survive without delivering the number of leads needed to survive, nor will you ever super succeed without delivering the exact number of leads needed for that level either. Therefore, when someone tells me that they Tried marketing onceTried direct mail onceTried a newspaper ad onceOr any other approach in marketing and walked away because it didn’t work (that’s their opinion, not a reality) then I’m looking at a company that will fail soon, or at least not far down the road. Some move on to things that cost less in dollars and cents, but cost more in time, and the results delivered is almost nil. Delivering consistent marketing results, and in the right amount is not a choice. Do it or close your doors! Marketing Tip — Marketing results, or leads, are dependent on two things How many people see our marketing materialsThe percentage of those that see our materials who actually are COMPELLED to give us a call, signup, or touch base with us in some way.It looks like this: If I need 10 people to call me this week, and if I know that for every person who sees my marketing 1% will call me then I only have to touch 1,000 people with my marketing. Now does that sound hard? Of course it isn’t…if you are reaching out to over 1,000 people every week. (# exposed to marketing materials) X (response rate) = # leads . The problem is that in the hundreds of seminars I’ve done, most people miss that point totally. They report that they sent out 100 letters and only got 1 reply, so, in their opinion, it didn’t work because they didn’t get the 10 they needed. They missed the whole concept. Mistake #3 - Not knowing your response rate Marketing Tip - Always know your marketing response rate, or be finding it. So, when you send out marketing and have no clue of what your response rate is, then how in the world do you know how much to send? Well, I’d send out enough to hit the 0.5% as a test market, and then measure the actual results coming back to be used in the next mailer. Mistake #4 - Not knowing when your marketing isn’t working? Mistake #4A - Not sending out marketing because it is perceived that it “costs too much.” Mistake #4B - Not knowing what it requires to acquire a customer? These are sort of one in the same mistakes - Not knowing when your marketing isn’t working, and How to measure when it does work. And the answer to both is “what does it cost to acquire a client.”How would you define “not working?” There is only one time when your marketing could be defined as “not working” and that is when it costs too much to acquire a customer. Notice, I didn’t say what marketing cost. I said what it costs to acquire a customer. Most decisions to not send marketing this month are based on “fear of spending money” when the decision should be made on “for every dollar spent on marketing it will generate X times more dollars” and then we MUST know what X is. If X is larger than an acceptable figure we move forward no matter what the cost because it will always generate more money than we put in. Let’s look at it this way, if you could generate 15% every year in the stock market would you do it? Of course….most would anyway. I wouldn’t because I believe that for every dollar put into my business I see 10-100 times come out and so I’m always looking for where to invest my money for the greatest return. And if you start managing your business that way instead of where to “avoid spending” you’ll find the answer and see similar results. So what does it cost you to acquire a client? That usually is a result of not knowing what it costs to acquire a lead or acquire a customer, or what the response rate is for your marketing. Let’s say that a mailer costs you $0.35 (for a postcard, printed and mailed, using http://www.usps.com/ ). If you send 1,000 pieces, that is $350, and if you get 1%, or 10 calls, that lead cost you only $35.00 each….right? Not bad if you ask me. Now that is a lead, not a sale. So, let’s say that you close 40-50% of your sales, which I also consider a reasonable figure. That means that it costs you $70.00 to acquire a customer. If that is a reasonable figure for you, then your statement of “I can’t afford to send marketing this month” is nothing but a business killer.” It really should be changed to “how many customers do I want to buy this month” and then adjust the number of letters going out to deliver that result. If your sale is small enough that $70 will not work, then we’ve got to work on that we can. The point is you can’t afford to not make this work. We just have to find the results that will work for you. Marketing tip - Have a clear cost to acquire a customer, and knowing what is acceptable. Mistake #5 - Marketing that talks about you, your product, your features. Most companies look at marketing as a black hole, or black magic that they have no control over. That is only their perception….in which case they’ve made it reality….at least for them. You are going to get a golden niblet here. This is a huge mistake that businesses make, and this is the one that relegates them to the “less than nothing” response rates in their marketing. Learn that this isn’t about you, it isn’t about your product, it isn’t about the features of your product, or even what you do….it is only about one thing….”what your prospect wants and needs, or a solution to his greatest problem.” I know….I know…I hear the grumbling now….You say your product does all of that. The customer doesn’t know that, so don’t open your marketing with anything about you, your product, your features, or what you do. The first thing at the very top of your marketing should Get Your Prospect’s Attention by making a value statement about what kind of results the prospect could get, or will get, or you will guarantee that he will get, or that a previous customer has gotten. Make it in dollars and cents.Your response rate will jump up to over 5% to 10%. If you’ve been getting 0.5% to 1.0% (the national average) then this is a 10 to 20 times increase in the number of people walking through your door for a relatively simple change. If you’ve not even been hitting the 0.5% area, then it is how much bigger than where you are now….pretty darned big. I’ve seen customers increase their business results by over 10 times in a week by getting this right. Marketing Tip-Marketing is ALWAYS about the customer, his wants and needs, and his pain or solution. Not about you, your product, features, or what you do. Mistake #6 - Hiring a Professional Marketing Company That Won’t or Can’t Define Their Measurable Results When you hire anyone for anything, always ask for measurable results as a guideline. If you noticed in mistake #5 above, I suggested that you state your value in dollars and cents to the customer. After all, he will ultimately make a decision on hiring you or someone else based on the value you bring to the table. When you allow the customer to figure out what you are worth it isn’t likely to be anything near what you are actually worth. So, why shouldn’t you expect your marketing provider to provide you the measurements you need to make your decision? Also, when a vendor is aware that that is what they are responsible for delivering they will also start managing it for better and better results. It just seems to happen that way. So, IF you decide to hire out your marketing then ask one key question: What measurable results do you, as my professional marketing company, typically deliver? It should be a response rate, in other words a statement like “approximately 1% to 5% of the marketing sent out should call you” or what other action you want. And keep in mind that 1% is considered average and for a really good marketing company it should be a LOT higher. Now, here comes the surprise, and something that will save you a LOT of money. If they won’t give you a number…and MOST won’t…..what do you think that means? They don’t know - which means that that wasn’t on their radar screen, that isn’t something they are managing, and that WAS the reason you wanted to hire them…right? People manage what is important to them. They are managing their sales numbers, not the results they provide for you….get the idea? They don’t want you to know what their results are -no further comments needed here? Most will sidestep the question by stating things like: Everyone is different…therefore, I can’t answer that. You are different….so we’ll have to find what works for you.All are avoiding the real question….”What has been typical for their clients before?” You are buying results, so don’t get sucked into “beautiful graphics” or “fantastic copy” or “our clients are …..and …..”. when in reality, the only thing that counts are the results they have provided, the number of clients, response rates, dollars paid for dollars generated by their marketing. Do NOT allow them to take you away from measurable RESULTS…anything else is just activity that may or may not be delivering any results. They state results or walk. Marketing Tip - When you hire marketing companies they WILL state measurable results that can be backed up by talking to their customers or you WALK. Pressure Washing Decks

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By Randall Madon A beautiful wooden deck, properly maintained, can add greatly to the aesthetic and resale values of a home. Just look around, decks are almost everywhere. Not just houses but both municipal and commercial facilities use wooden decks and walkways extensively. Because of this pressure washing decks can be a great profit center for your business or even the whole business. The great news is that decks need maintenance. As beautiful as a wooden deck can be it can be a real eyesore if not properly maintained. Why Decks Need Maintenance When a wood deck absorbs water the natural resins and color can be washed out over time. The combination of wood and water creates a food source for mildew, fungus and mold promoting their growth. Wood and water combined with dirt and even air pollution will also contribute to the proliferation of mildew, fungus and molds. One thing to remember is that a wet deck with a thick coating of mildew is very slick and slippery. This creates one heck of a “slip and fall” liability problem. Keep this in mind when speaking to the decision makers of commercial and municipal facilities. Learning Curve There is a learning curve involved when getting proficient enough to clean/seal/restore wood decks for the public. It is best to learn on your own deck or on the decks of close friends and relatives. When learning make sure to do more than one. Different decks can present different challenges. Inspect When organizing your project or preparing your bid make some simple observations. Has the deck ever been sealed? Is there old sealer that needs to be stripped and reapplied? Do I have all the chemicals, tools and equipment required for this project? ( we will include a sample list at the end of this article) Is there any damaged or rotted wood that needs to be replaced? ( Now is a good time to measure.) Are the any missing or loose bolts, nails or screws? Are there any adjacent bushes or plants that need to be protected? Are there any electrical appliances, outlets, light fixtures or telephone jacks? Note: these will have to be sealed water tight. Remember water and electricity is a dangerous combination. Decks in upscale neighborhoods will probably contain most of these challenges. Make sure the circuit breakers will be accessible to you prior to starting. Beginning Ok you’ve cleared everything from the deck and placed it far enough to be out of harms way. You’ve locked out the circuit breakers that provide electrical service to the deck area. Outlets, fixtures and jacks have been sealed water tight. Close proximity plants and bushes have been protected with a clear plastic tarp. Loose bolts. nails and screws have been tightened or replaced.with galvanized fasteners. Rotted or damaged wood has been replaced. Only now are you really ready to begin. Clear the Deck of Dirt and Debris With a stiff bristle broom or a leaf blower clear all loose dirt and debris from the surface of the deck.. What Chemicals to Use Sodium Hydroxide ( a high caustic chemical) is very popular with professional deck cleaners. Because this chemical does most of the work very low pressures of 500-1200 PSI can be used which helps avoid the condition known as “furring”. Safety note: Always wear headgear with face shields and cartridge type respirators when working with high caustic or acidic chemicals. This is not a suggestion it’s a must. While Sodium Hydroxide is a very effective chemical it will darken or may even blacken the deck. Because of this the PH will have to be neutralized with a mild acidic solution. Acids used are Citrus,Oxalic or Phosphoric. These acid solutions will act as brighteners. Neutralizing the PH of a high caustic cleaner will restore a deck very close to it’s original color. Add approx. 5oz. acid to each gallon of water. Citrus Acid- Used on hardwoods. Oxalic Acid- Primarily used on redwoods. Phosphoric Acid- Used when an unfinished deck has turned “gray”. I’m very hesitant to suggest a pressure level when it comes to cleaning decks because it’s just so subjective. One deck will have harder wood than another and other decks will have softer and harder areas on the same deck. In this respect only experience can really guide you. As a general rule of thumb use the least amount of pressure that will get the job done. Test pressure on an inconspicuous area of the deck. The underside works well for this Excessive Pressure. Excessive pressure will cause a deck to “furr”.This is the appearance of small hairlike fibers protruding from the wood.. Your customers will not like the way this looks and light sanding will be required to correct this condition. Ready, Set, Go! Soak the area to be cleaned thoroughly. This serves several purposes but most importantly, the deck must remain damp throughout the entire cleaning process. Apply cleaning chemical with the applicator of your choice. When just starting out a pump up type sprayer will work nicely. Allow your chemical to dwell for 15-20 minutes. Do not allow to dry. If necessary spray more water or reapply chemical. If you’ve sufficiently dampened the deck and haven’t dawdled this shouldn’t be a big problem. Clean. Remember when cleaning use low pressure. Never clean against the grain or across the grain. Feather each pass. The pressure used should be enough to remove dead wood but not enough to cause “furring” Experience will be your best teacher. Rinse deck thoroughly removing all chemical. Apply neutralizer/brightener solution, wait 10-15 minutes and rinse well again. If you are going to seal wait 24 hours if not 48. If you chose your day well rain won’t become a problem. “Furring” Happens. Sometimes “furring will become apparent even at low pressures. These short hair like fibers are the result of a “tearing” action on the wood. These will probably be gone in 2-3 weeks but your customer will want them gone sooner than later. Give them a light sanding with a bronze metal scrubbing pad. Use bronze, steel wool can leave rust stains. What not to leave behind Here is a general list of things to bring to your job site. Some of this may not apply to you. The point is to always work with a job list to avoid the embarassment or expense of missing that tool you need right now. Pressure Washer- Cold water gas machine 5.5-11HP commercial grade unit. (Hot Washers are also used but at very low temperatures not exceeding 110F) Hoses- Sufficient lengths of both pressure hose and supply hose. Brooms/Blower- A stiff bristled push broom (not metal) and/or a gas powered leaf blower. Chemical applicator - Pump-up type sprayer or Flo-Jet type sprayer Mixing Buckets - 2or3 5 gallon plastic mixing buckets. Mixers- Drill type chemical mixer. Respirator- Cartridge type with spares (When working with high caustics and acids) Face and Eye Protection- Some type of helmet with face shield. Cordless Drill- With phillips screw bits and chuck large enough to acommodate the chemical mixer. Hammer- If nails are required. Deck Screws, Nails and Bolts- As required, use galvanized only. Duct tape, Clear plastic sheeting,Cardboard- To protect areas Extension Cords- Must be adequate length and gauge. 12 gauge minimum. Electric Rotary Sander- With 60 and 80 grit sandpaper Knee Pads - You didn’t think you’d always be standing when sanding did you? Remember practice makes perfect get out there and start learning. Easy Personal Loans: Borrowing Money Can’t Get Any Easier!

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Steve_C_Clark]Steve C Clark A personal loan refers to the borrowing made by an individual to finance his/her needs or requirements. Personal loans have existed for a long time and are usually given to the borrowers once they enter into an agreement with the lenders. There are always some unexpected financial needs for which an individual may not have made a cash provision. Personal loans come handy in such scenarios. Features of an easy personal loan: Easy to obtain in less time - Easy Personal Loans can be obtained in just a few days and sometimes within 24 hrs of signing for it. The processing time for these loans is very less. Easy to obtain for people with bad credit history The UK residents wont be denied an easy personal loan because of bad credit history. The lenders are increasingly making provisions whereby they are able to accommodate people with bad credit history and help them fulfill their needs with an easy personal loan. Easy to get various types of personal loans: Easy Personal Loans can be secured or unsecured depending on the fact whether collateral is pledged to the lender or not. Easy to repay: The interest rates of the easy personal loans are not very high so they are easy to repay. At the same time the credit score of the borrower can be improved through such loans. Types of Easy Personal Loans: Easy personal loans can be broadly grouped under the secured or unsecured category. Both the loan types have their own advantages. In case of a secured loan the borrower manages to get a large loan and the lender is happy to lend it since the security is there to take care of any defaults. The lenders rarely turn down a secured loan application as the borrowers asset is always there to back up such a loan. In case of unsecured loans the borrower has no risk of losing any of his/her assets because of a default in repayment. So borrowers who dont have any high value asset to pledge can still get an easy personal loan. The interest rates in case of the unsecured loans tend to be higher as the lender is bearing more risk than in case of a secured loan. Also the loan amount that can be taken by the borrower is also less than that in case of a secured personal loan. The types of easy personal loans available to borrowers in UK are student loans, wedding loans, debt consolidation loans, home improvement Loans etc. Borrowers can apply for an easy personal loan in these ways:There are many banks and financial institutions that offer easy personal loans. The borrowers should contact a number of banks and lending institutions before deciding on a particular loan. After the paperwork is over the bank gives the loan amount to the borrowers. Typically if the repayment period is longer then the interest rate tends to be lower. Dating Strategies for All Singles

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Paul Davis As a relational coach I have had the privilege of interacting with unmarried people of all ages and backgrounds. I have provided a sympathetic ear, understanding heart, wise counsel, intuitive advice, and creative ideas to enhance dating lives and relationships. The majority of my life has been spent as a single adult. I have only been married six of my thirty-seven glorious years. Hence I understand that happiness is not found in who we date or marry, but rather who we are. America’s 86 million single adults come from many different relational backgrounds. Some have previously been married and divorced. Others have children. Some precious older singles are also widows and widowers. This being said the complexity and peculiarity of each group of singles requires compassionate and experiential understanding when relating to them within the context of relational coaching. I feel I have a unique level of understanding for singles. I have been dating for over 15 years. I know how and where to meet people. My world travels to over 50 countries have allowed me to date people from every religious and ethnic group. I have dated women older and significantly younger than I. I know how to tell if someones interested in me. I know how to ask someone out. I can adequately assess compatibility and know how to keep an ongoing relationship healthy. I am refreshingly creative concerning dating ideas and know how to be resourceful on a limited budget. No matter the circumstance, I can assure an invigorating date under any situation. I also have an intuitive sense in regard to timing as it pertains to the pace by which a relationship should healthily progress. I understand the pros and cons of moving in together before marriage. I am keenly aware of the essential foundational keys to sustain a respectful and strong relationship. I also know the warning signs of a problematic relationship, which if not corrected could become increasingly painful. Should the occasional dating disaster or breakup occur, I know how to re-establish a person in their identity and empower them to happily embrace dating again. When necessary, I can gently advise a person how to break up without being cruel and heartless. In regard to relational abuse, I know how to deal with cheaters and violent people. Saying goodbye is never easy, though sometimes it is vitally necessary. When one must move on, I can help them overcome their disappointment and happily embrace the future with newfound expectation. Non-traditional relationships are quickly becoming the norm throughout America, as we are a diverse people intermingled together. I have counseled people how to overcome and transcend these barriers. Bridges can be built and hearts won as we learn to love and accept one another unconditionally. As someone who has dated numerous women from other countries who I met online, I know how to successful manage a long distance relationship. Employment, military leave, and extenuating circumstances do not need to destroy a meaningful relationship. We are all social beings deeply yearning for meaningful relationship and intimate interaction. We need to be recognized and tenderly touched no matter are color, creed, age, or sexual preference. Therefore let us peaceably celebrate our humanity and embrace one another in the bond of heartfelt charity as we together seek love on our life journey. Free Sex - Big Money

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Ed Howes In less than six months I have joined at least a dozen adult online dating services as an unpaid member. So how is my love life? No change. I had one Epal to show for all my time and effort. She lived a hundred miles from me, got busy with other things and said good bye. I write good profiles which improve as I gain experience. Those profiles pull instant responses. I get messages in my on site Email but I cant respond beyond a simple acknowledgement, unless I upgrade now, upgrade now, upgrade now, to paid membership at $25 to $40 per month. For the same reason I quit watching television - because I hate this incessant and blatant advertising, I dont spend much more time on these sites than it takes to read my mail. I think about the kind of service I would really enjoy and appreciate. If I just wanted to look at pictures I found one good free content porno site that was a credit to its kind. But dating sites have yet to arrive at this model. Therein lays a huge business opportunity. All these dating sites are member financed. If you dont pay, you cant play. People like me leave in utter disgust, because I cant afford the freight, I dont like the model, and I wouldnt pay if I could afford it. So lets take a look at how the worlds best adult dating site will operate: Free lifetime memberships with no paid upgrades ever. Member can: 1.) Have unlimited contact with all other members who have blocking options for on-site Email. 2.) Free access to all member profiles. 3.) Free access to all match and search features. 4.) Free access to forums, blogs, advice columns, chat rooms - text, audio, and video. 5.) Options to edit, hide or completely remove profile. 6.) Full options for notification at personal off site Email, for all on site activities. 7.) Option to cancel membership any time. The mission of the service is to connect people. On site interactivity is heavily promoted so there is no competing site where members would rather be. Members will all be made to feel they are part of a unique and caring community. If they so choose, they can pay to get prominent profile positioning; say, 1st, 2nd and 3rd pages of any search in which their profile would appear. Pay to post a photo album of up to 20 photos. All members can open accounts for the on site adult products store. High end advertisers are invited on pay per click and commission basis. Pay for full page, high resolution photos. My point is that the mission makes no money and provides a free and very valuable service. Members are free to pay for better results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Advertising and product sales pay all expenses and return the profits. Such a business could be the top model in two years or less, earning seven figures. If you have thoughts on this plan, to improve it, get it rolling, work out details, Id love you to leave a comment or go to my website and send me an Email. If you want to run with it yourself, let me know when its up and Ill be an early member and write an article singing your praises as a marketing visionary. (PUBLISHERS! Free Promotion Here - Now! If you will leave a comment and your URL or hyperlink on this or any article of mine: 1.) Some of my on - site readers will visit your website. 2.) I will visit your website. If I like what I find, I will write a positive review and publish it here at EzineArticles. You may delete this generous offer when re - publishing this article.) Louisiana Lawyers Fees

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Eric Morris There are no hard and fast rules regarding the legal fees charged by different lawyers. Generally, the fee arrangement is flexible and nominal. Broadly speaking, there are five basic types of fee structures followed. They are generally used individually as per the specific legal advice rendered. Flat or fixed fee is a prearranged fee that the client pays the lawyer on completion of the legal case. The lawyers calculate this amount based on their experience about the time, skill and effort that the case would require. Time based legal fees are calculated by multiplying the numbers of hours spent on the client?s case and charging accordingly. This type of fee structure is generally used in business matters such as negotiating the purchase or sale of a business or property. A contingency fee is worked out at some percentage of the monetary recovery obtained in a negotiation. This is generally the fee decided in accidents and personal injury cases. This enables the clients to retain a lawyer even if they are not in any position to pay upfront initially. In some cases, the fees are statutory. In social security disability cases, a set fee of 25% is generally charged on the recovery. In cases such as residential real estate contracts and closings, the money involved determines the legal fee charged by the lawyer. In these cases, though the work involved is almost the same, the lawyer charges more in case of higher priced houses. These are asset- based fees. Basic legal fees are and should be reasonable under all circumstances. It is also advisable for the client to ensure that there is a written contract between him and the lawyer. There is also a provision for legal procedure in case of any dispute between the client and the attorney over fees. Louisiana Lawyers provides detailed information on Louisiana lawyers, Louisiana probate lawyers, Louisiana real estate lawyers, Louisiana divorce lawyers and more. Louisiana Lawyers is affiliated with Massachusetts Divorce Lawyers. Las Vegas Wedding Receptions

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

By Kevin Stith Las Vegas wedding receptions are where people tend to go absolutely wild. For most people, the ceremony is not where the real action is. The real action begins at the party that follows the ceremony and the two dont have to be held in the same place. You can have a traditional wedding ceremony at a chapel, at the County Clerks Office or anywhere you choose and then you can have a party for as many people as youd like anywhere else in town. Las Vegas wedding receptions are legendary and not just for the rich and famous. You can arrange to party until dawn and nobody will raise an eyebrow. You can start with dinner and dancing, move to the pool area and then back inside for an all night catered affair complete with lounge singers, a constant flow of food and beverages to your liking and end up with a dawn champagne breakfast to wrap things up. Stagger back to your room upstairs in the hotel, or fall into your waiting limo the next morning for a ride to wherever youre honeymoon is scheduled to begin. You can rent a restaurant with the type of food youll be enjoying, or rent the room at one of the hotels and have the food brought in around the clock. Bring in circus acts, singers, dancers, stand up comedians - whatever your heart desires. Its up to you and your pocketbook to design the wedding reception youve always dreamed about. At a Las Vegas wedding reception you really can party on! Las Vegas Weddings Info provides detailed information on Las Vegas wedding chapels, packages and receptions, as well as garden, helicopter, casino, hotel, Elvis and other Las Vegas theme weddings.
